We are in week five of a special season of prayer in Golden Valley Church. What an awesome privilege to be able to come boldly to the God who loves us and ask for our requests for ourselves, our community and nation. We are so thankful the He invites us to come to Him and ask; to call upon His name.
Recently we have continued praying for our nation that it will turn in repentance back to God. We have prayed that God will raise up the honour of His Word, the Bible, in our lives and land.
As Sharron reminded us on Sunday, as with Abraham, God has called us His friends. And in the same way that Abraham interceded with God when He was about to destroy Sodom, so we can intercede also for our city and nation.
When we pray, we sense the pleasure of the Father. And we sense His Presence in the midst. How awesome it is to pray!!
PRAYER IS AWESOME

RESTORING THE FOUNDATIONS IN OZ
February 18, 2012
Church members and Restoring the foundations (RTF) ministers Mick and Sue Taylor are continuing their 10 week ministry in Australia working with churches and church leaders in healing of the heart issues.
We continue to pray for them… and miss them!
Golden Valley Church places a high value on people – including church leaders – getting their hearts and emotions healed from past hurts and influences which affect the ability to love and care in a Christlike manner.
We are pleased to be a part of Mick and Sue’s ministry.
THE DANIEL VOICE
February 13, 2012by Wes Boxall
Having spent several hours this past week in our month of prayer sessions, especially crying out to God for our nation and Government, and for Him to raise up the godly in authority, and then having spoken this weekend on our “School of Prophets” regarding the prophetic voice being released into every area of government and society – the ‘Daniels’ – I was well blessed to read a tweet from Beth Redman this afternoon.
“Beth Redman: Heading home from an extraordinary mtg in Westminster talking to MP’s about @TheA21Campaign schools program#didthatreallyjusthappen?!!”
Well done Beth! Bring it on!! May God establish His ‘Daniel’ voices and His agents throughout this land and release a turning back to Him… for the sake of us all, especially our children and grandchildren.
SECOND WEEK OF PRAYER
February 10, 2012
Well, what an awesome week of prayer it has been in Golden Valley Church this week, as members have gathered together to pray for our church, city, and nation.
In the Bible God says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).
There can be no doubt that our land is broken and needs healing. Politicians have referred to ‘Broken Britain’. God offers us the answer to our brokenness. To humble ourselves, pray, seek Him and turn around from doing wrong in His eyes.
We are praying for our nation to do this very thing. God promises healing if we do. What is the answer for Britain? For Europe? There is only one primary answer according to this scripture – to turn back to God and let Him back in.
Please pray with us, that pockets of praying Christians will take their place across our nation; in hospitals and schools, in offices and factories, in Government and police, in homes and churches. Our God hears and answers prayer.
SCHOOL OF PROPHETS RESTARTS
February 8, 2012GVC School of Prophets recommences on Saturday 11th February after the winter break. Participants will continue training in Biblical prophetic and communicating God’s voice and heart.
So far the course has been well attended and appreciated. We look forward to more as we continue.
HONOURING JEAN
February 8, 2012The memorial service for our dear sister and member, Jean Besley, was held at a fully packed Christchurch in Ross-on-Wye on Saturday afternoon. Tributes were given by family members and by Wes Boxall, and the service was led by Pastors John & Sue Gasston of New Life Church, Ross. Friends gathered from all over the area to honour Jean, and to stand with the family who are mourning the sudden loss of wife and mother.
During the service the congregation sang many of Jean’s favourite songs and hymns as a tribute to her. Above all else she was a passionate worshipper.
Pastor Sue Gasston gave a short message on the ‘parable of the talents’ and being faithful in all that God has given to us as individuals, as Jean herself had done.

Refreshments were served after the service in the church hall.
We continue to pray for the family at their time of loss.
A memorial page has been set up on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/groups/164552550318033/
