LONDON PASTORS AT PROPHET’S SCHOOL

March 20, 2012

Tom and Abi AllsopIt was an enormous pleasure to welcome Tom and Abi Allsop, associate pastors of ‘Catch the Fire’ Wembley, to teach in Golden Valley Church’s “School of Prophets” on Saturday.

As always, we are grateful for the way God’s Presence was rich and evident. The day began with an amazing time of soaking prayer led by Sharron, and worship led by Paul and Helen Tropman. Wes taught a session on God’s love for cities and how we should be praying and prophesying over our cities.

Afterwards Tom and Abi taught on living out of our ‘sonship’ as sons and daughters of God, on understanding that we are living as holy people, and how we partner with God when He speaks to us.

We are grateful to God the Father for His continuing love and grace which never leaves us and gives us hope.

SOAKING PRAYER

November 15, 2011

This evening the soaking prayer session in Churchdown led by Amanda and Rachel was an awesome time! The Presence of God was thick and the whole evening sensitive and worshipful.

Different students from the School of Leaders are leading ‘soaking’ events as part of their training. Well done ladies!

PROPHETIC SCHOOL BEGINS

November 14, 2011

“School of Prophets” began on Saturday in Innsworth Community Hall. The participants came from several churches in the Gloucester / Cheltenham area, and together experienced a great time of learning to hear God better, understanding prophetic giftings, and the history of Schools of Prophets in the Old Testament. There was plenty of encouragement in worship and sharing God’s blessings with one another.

The school is being run as a result of a prophetic word which Wes & Sharron received from Stacey Campbell a few years ago – awesome to see it beginning to come to pass.

As well as live teaching from the pastors of GVC, the participants received video input from Mark Virkler and Lynley Allan.

More Lord!!

THE SHIFT HAS BEGUN

October 5, 2011

Wow!! What can we say except “Thank You Jesus!” The Love Revolution conference was truly an amazing time of worship, healing, encounter and teaching. We are so blessed that Jerame and Miranda Nelson were able to be with us.

They flew in straight from San Diego and began the awesome ministry the following day, not allowing jet lag to hinder them. Instead they were eager to share God’s heart of love, and His amazing presence.

We saw several significant healings take place throughout the weekend, and the lives of those attending were refreshed, renewed and challenged by the anointed teaching and stories of what God is doing today.

A big word of thanks also to the staff at the Hallmark Hotel, Gloucester, who accommodated Golden Valley Church in the Parkside Suite, and catered for us so efficiently.

It is clear that this was a time of ‘Shift’ for GVC and for the city. Praise God!

AWESOME START TO LOVE REVOLUTION

September 30, 2011

Wow! The Presence and Power of God was evident in the room from the start. The dynamic worship led people deep into God’s presence and helped to cultivate a prophetic and faith-filled atmosphere, where God was able to do miracles and bring healing to several people as a result of words of knowledge from Jerame Nelson.

He then went on to preach on keys to demonstrating God’s love, and the time flew by unnoticed! There was a great time of impartation at the end. We look forward to more….

BEHOLD HOW GOOD IT IS WHEN BROTHERS DWELL TOGETHER IN UNITY

January 27, 2011

by Jean Packer

‘Behold! How good it is when brothers dwell together in unity. It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron. Running down on the edge of his garments’ (Psalm 133:1).

This scripture has been with me since becoming so refreshed during the past two Sundays at Golden Valley Church, especially through the worship, led by Bex and Colin one week and Paul and Helen the next. Their varied styles have brought enrichment to us. The worship has been wonderfully liberating and potent. We are constantly brought under an open Heaven and invited into the throne room to receive more of God’s presence into our hearts. The fire has fallen powerfully on both Sundays and we have been liberated to receive more of God’s touch as, one week a healing pool opened up and the second, we went through a fire tunnel individually and in family groups. Testimonies were shared firstly by Sue, of how the ladies on the Alpha Course are receiving God’s touch and through Jo showing us the miracle of diamonds appearing to her and Matt! The children also received, and were joyfully dancing and playing together. We have been blessed with such a kaleidoscope of colour and diversity!

Over these two weeks, great words have been brought to us, firstly through Penny, who shared what God has been laying on her heart through Acts 18. Paul was provoked to have compassion on people. He saw the value of a soul. He was positioned by God and spoke out whenever he could. Paul saw that ‘the fields are white and ready for harvest’. He was focussed on bringing light to the lost people around him and he gave his life for many souls. He didn’t concentrate on the difficulties and hardships that he suffered but glorified God with his life. The motivation of his heart was to this purpose. He was not alone and God positioned Aquilla and Priscilla to come alongside him and help him in his work when he needed them. He went to the Jews first and was rejected, so he went to the Gentiles. He didn’t get hung up on the rejection of others. Paul was prepared to roll up his sleeves. He was a tent-maker. His pay was in knowing he was serving God and reaching the lost.

Likewise, God gets us pointing in the right direction and He is positioning us to bring light to others. Because we have life, we can bring life to the situations that we encounter. No matter what difficulties, hardships and disappointments we are going through we are never alone. He brings us help when we need it. He can even use the devil’s agents to help us! ‘ ‘If God is for us, who can be against us!’.(Romans 8:31). We were exhorted to ask God for a download of the value of a soul because He loves each person so much wherever we are or whoever we are talking to. They are a soul-searching for God. Keep moving forward and to keep taking ground and ask ourselves the question of how can we encourage others to keep moving forward with us. The saints of England wouldn’t give up! Neither should we! Keep sowing, keep reaping and enjoy tasting the fruit! Changes happen around the seed and this will change the atmosphere. Enjoy the journey!

We then received prayer as we stood in God’s presence and individually asked “Where is my specific place to move into and take ground for our family, friends and workplaces”?

Last week Ian spoke from Acts 20: 1 -25. He shared how it was the love of God that constrained Paul to walk the path that he did. He ran the race with joy! He gave himself to serve others. When God speaks it does something in us. We become constrained. God’s will is for us to love Him first and then one another. We are urged to look after, and watch out for one another . He has made us overseers for one another. Yes. There is a cost that may be painful to us but as we raise our eyes to Him we see that it is worthwhile. Ian reminded us that we are justified by faith.

Ian specified four things that Paul gave and received and that the church cannot exist without:-

1/ Honour
2/Relationship
3/Self sacrifice
4/Unity

The church is not a building, it is a body. It is not an organisation but an organism.
The twelve disciples are the blueprint for God’s living body and we are one body related by the blood of Jesus and must love the Church as Christ does. ‘By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another’ ( John 13:35). We must build around what can I give? and not what I need. It’s not about me but about Him. We are to be interdependent with one another. Submission and friendship. Worship is a lifestyle and unity is the building block, being one in harmony and agreement. Paul took on the status of a slave.

Ian concluded his message by quoting scripture from ‘The Message’.

Philippians 2:1-3 (The Message)
“If you’ve gotten anything out of following Christ. If His love has made any difference in your life, if being a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart,if you care – then do me a favour. Agree with each another, love each other, be deep-spirited friends, Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”

THE OTHER SIDE

November 15, 2010

What a fantastic Sunday morning it was in God’s Presence yesterday!! Wow and ‘many wows’ again!! How privileged are we in Golden Valley Church that God in His love and kindness continues to show up at the meetings and connect with us in His awesome holiness.

After giving thanks, as it was Remembrance Sunday, for all those who gave their lives in war so that we could have freedom, and taking time to pray for the personnel and families at our own local NATO unit, wishing to give honour, we began in worship, thanking Jesus for His death that brought us life and freedom, and there was an immediate way open into the Father’s awesome Presence.

It was the kind of morning where we could have stayed there forever, as He continually invited us to come in deeper, as we are!

One was aware of God being there, seeing us, and speaking. We were aware of angels joining us in our worship. How holy it was. How tangibly we were in His Throne Room!!

The speaker later in the meeting was Mick Taylor, regional ‘Catch the Fire’ representative. Mick spoke on ‘Crossing Over to the Other Side’, basing his talk on Mark ch. 5 where Jesus crossed over to the Gadarenes -  a land forgotten and dark. And yet He had an appointment there with a man who was deranged, chained, and rejected, but who despite the demonic in his life, ran to worship Jesus and call for His help. Jesus met him where he was, and healed him, and set him free.

Maybe at this time God is calling us to ‘cross over’ into areas of life that are unfamiliar and even ‘threatening’ to us, and yet where He has divine appointments lined up. What will we do? Stay in the familiar and comfortable (boring), or go on an exciting adventure with Him into new things, and carry His awesome love and presence with us to others who are in need?!!

PARTNERS IN HARVEST CONFERENCE

November 8, 2010

Last week several of the leaders of Golden Valley Church attended the bi-annual European Partners in Harvest conference in Hemel Hempstead.

The conference was a momentous few days of Holy Spirit impartation, teaching, testimony, and friendship; making us aware again of how much we appreciate this family of churches, to which we are affiliated. Stories of what God is doing in the nations abounded, as well as testimonies of God’s love and healing.

The main speakers were John & Carol Arnott, Rolland & Heidi Baker, Dan Slade, and Jerry Anderson (LaRed). Between them they addressed a variety of pertinent issues, and exhorted all who attended in their relationship with God. Worship, led by teams from Northern Ireland and Sunderland was truly first class and an awesome experience to be part of.

The conference was well oversubscribed, with several who attempted to book places late, having to be turned away. How fantastic is it when there is so much demand to be in God’s Presence and to go to ‘church’?!

God is very much alive and well in Europe, and we are thankful to be a part of what He is doing.
