We are excited to have our friends, Norman and Margaret Moss, with us this Sunday in GVC.

Norman and Margaret Moss_0

Norman and Margaret have had experience of Charismatic Renewal since the 1960s. Norman was Senior Pastor of Queen’s Road Church, Wimbledon for 31 years. Together, Norman & Margaret were used to bring the church into renewal in the 1970s.

In May 1994 they visited Toronto and returned to Wimbledon where the outpouring had already begun a week before their departure. The church became a centre for the blessing, and pastors visited from many parts of the UK and Europe. In 1997 after 40 years serving the local church, Norman & Margaret felt called to wider ministry. They established “Towards Revival”, and travelled extensively. seeing the Lord move in blessing and physical healing. In the same year Fred Wright invited them to help him with the co ordination of Partners In Harvest in the UK and Europe. Their role is to give pastoral support to the PIH pastors and churches.

Norman & Margaret have 3 children, all of whom are married. They have several grandchildren. Margaret has qualifications in social work and management. She contributed to the New Dictionary of Christian Ethics and Pastoral Theology published by IVP. Norman has frequently broadcasted on Premier Radio London, and is the author of several children’s books.

We are excited to have Jeremy and Connie Sinnott back with us this week in Golden Valley Church for a mid-week conference.

Jeremy and Connie are loved ministers in GVC and it’s a joy to be welcoming them to Gloucester again. They come from a Barrie, Ontario where they currently pastor the new “Catch the Fire” church plant out of Toronto.

There is no charge for these meetings but offerings will be taken up.

SET ANDREW BRUNSON FREE

We need one minute of your time and a signature to help a friend of our church family who is in great need.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND SHARE!

American Pastor Andrew Brunson has languished in prison in Turkey since October 2016, falsely charged with “membership in an armed terrorist organization” despite the Turkish authorities having no evidence against him. Pastor Andrew is a U.S. citizen from North Carolina who (with his family) has lived peacefully in Turkey since 1993.

The White House petition for Andrew has collected 19,005 signatures. We need to reach 100,000 signatures by March 8 on the White House petition concerning Andrew, or the petition will be disabled and archived.
The American Center for Law and Justice, Samaritans Purse, Pastor Saeed Abadini and many other organizations are backing this cause. In addition, Jay Sekulow of The American Center for Law and Justice is arguing for Andrew’s release before the UN today.
Click on the link for information about how to sign the petition and help this man who has spent 23 years in Turkey and never once had any trouble with the law.

TWITTER QUOTE

I came across a tweet from Bishop T D Jakes which stood out among the plethora of words talking to me from my computer. I posted it on Facebook and have received several responses to it with people wanting to talk about it or comment on it.

TWITTER @BishopJakes
“Those who really love you will speak the truth to you at the risk of falling out with you. Loving truth from a friend is better than gold.”

This is a great quote and increasingly vital for all of us if we want to truly make our lives count and not be sidetracked or deceived by our own ‘self-blindness’ along the way. True friends who will lovingly but obstinately speak the key things we really need to hear are very rare. If you have one – hang on to them and don’t get offended when they say something you don’t like! I speak to myself here also!! Ha ha.

May we all find friendships this year that have this priceless quality about them. I pray in GVC as we develop more ‘church as family’ this aspect – truly loving and lovingly true – will develop more. Have a blessed 2013.
