OPEN DOORS IN 2014

Often at the beginning of a New Year we have a clear mandate or direction from God as to the focus or prophetic significance of that year. We knew that 2013 was a ‘year of alignment’ and we have spent many occasions in prayer regarding this. There are some who interpret the current Hebrew year 5774 as meaning “the year of the Open Doors”.  Whilst I don’t feel strongly enough to declare it as THE year of open doors in Golden Valley Church, I do believe that within this next 12 months the Father is wanting to open up new ‘doors’ for us in many areas of life.

doorBiblically, and in within ancient cultures, the concept of doors, gates, and doorways are more significant than we generally regard them in a modern western society. Clearly doors into our homes or businesses are significant as both entry points and security factors. Continue reading “OPEN DOORS IN 2014”

SCHOOL OF LEADERS

This weekend Golden Valley ‘School of Leaders’ began their nine month training.

The induction weekend at Innsworth Community Hall was awesome as the ten hungry students gathered to learn, discuss, pray, and play. Truly God began the school with some serious heart surgery and some key revelations.

We are excited about the nine months and believe it will produce a birthing of something new in their lives.

More Lord!!

PRAYER

It’s summer holiday time. A time for many, to relax, hang out with friends and family, go away, and enjoy the sunshine. Isn’t it great that in all our much needed rest times, God Himself  “neither slumbers nor sleeps” but faithfully continues caring for us and watching over His promises to fulfil them.

Our teaching in GVC the past two Sundays has been a reminder to us that in all our summer changes prayer is still absolutely vital!

We looked at the two prayers of Paul the Apostle in Ephesians chapters 1 and 3. The first is a prayer for revelation. The second is a prayer for impartation. In a world that is swamped in information – far too much information – what is needed is revelation and impartation from God.

Paul prays we would have revelation of three things: the Hope of God’s calling on us, the Riches of His Inheritance in us, and the greatness of His Power towards us. This can’t come by the human mind – only by the Holy Spirit. He has to reveal it all. As He does everything changes!

Paul also prays for that we would have an impartation of strength in our inner man, that Christ dwells in us by faith, and we are absolutely taken over by His love. Love changes everything.

We have another prayer that we will be looking at in a couple weeks time. This is Nehemiah’s prayer, when He is faced with news of the state of Jerusalem, in Neh. 1. He is so sensitized in prayer that he weeps and fasts and calls on God because the news has touched him deep inside. How often we are totally de-sensitized by life and the world around us; by sin and acceptance of ungodly things!

As we proceed from here. Let’s pray these prayers: Revelation, Impartation, Sensitisation. May God bless you this summer.

WINTER BIBLE STUDIES

This evening we begin a series of Bible Studies as part of our home group sessions. There are six studies before Christmas and three after. We wanted to put in some more formal structure for a few weeks over the winter season.

Before Christmas, there will be three studies on “FEAR” and three on “WORSHIP”.

We begin this evening with “What is Fear”. There will be time to look at scripture together, discuss, share, and pray for each other.

We trust that this will be a profitable time for everyone who attends, full of fresh revelation, and being impacted by the love of God.

POWERFUL TEACHING ON THE FATHER’S LOVE

As part of our “All Things Are Possible” conference Scott and Hilary Dalton delivered a powerful session of teaching and impartation of God the Father’s love, and a revelation of what He is really like.
Most, if not all of us, have a distorted view of God – compared to the way Jesus saw and understood Him. Jesus came to bring us a true revelation and experience of abiding in the Father.
Last night’s session was a deep and intimate time of God revealing Himself through a fresh look at the story of the Prodigal Son and powerful ministry time. Thank You God!!
The conference continues today. Why not come along? Sessions are 10:30am and 2:30pm.

THE GLORY SCHOOL

Report on the ‘Extreme Prophetic’ Glory School in Golden Valley Church, 6 – 8 May 2010 by Jean Packer

The Glory School brought to us by Rob and Lynn Packer from New Zealand began at the Holiday Inn in Barnwood on Thursday evening and carried on through to Saturday evening.  The venue was  very comfortable and we were made very welcome by the staff.  Throughout the sessions the worship was amazing and increased daily, powerfully accessing, and taking us into the throne room of God.  Many were overwhelmed by the presence and love of God that was experienced in a new way as we ministered to Him.  People were often prostrate before God in adoration and we opened up our hearts deeply towards Him.

Rob began by declaring prophetically that  The Lion of Judah is roaring our destiny over us and His fire is going to burn up the dross within us. The church is a sleeping giant  that is waking up to becomes pioneers and trail blazers and it is God that is causing an unsettling within His people so that we will reach out for more of the Spirit operating in our lives. What God is doing in the spiritual realm will resonate out because we are in a spiritual revolution that  people are hungry for as there is a high level of disillusionment in the world.  The membrane between the natural and spiritual realm is getting really thin and this is opening up on both sides.

We are overcomers because Jesus died on the cross for us so that we can never be separated from the love of God. Man was offered an eternally secure relationship with God through believing in the finished work of Christ on the cross.  Redeemed, we are invited to be partakers in the heavenly glory realm and invited to freely access the throne of grace through the blood of the Covenant.

Threads that are foundational to us for accessing the glory realm depend firstly, upon our worship to God; that He is to be exalted at all times, the inerrant authority of the word of God, total dependence of the leading of the Holy Spirit  and, its through faith that we access all of our inheritance.  Once these are in place we are free to enjoy, explore and experience.  Emphasis was given that there are no levels of maturity in any of the spiritual activities that we can embark upon. They are all equally valid.  In fact, we were told that well-known prophets of God all claim that their largest revelations usually come out of the small ‘nudges’ that God gives to them that they then follow through.  God wants our hearts and the purpose of any experience is to have a deeper intimacy with Father.

Both Rob and Lynn opened up the way for us to understand and receive new revelation.  Experience of the heavenly glory realm was demystified and made available to us.  We were shown that our imaginations and dreams are our built-in vision centres to greater revelation.  Our hearts and minds can both think, and we develop as we allow God to renew us.  We were given activations to complete at the end of each session.  These ranged from asking God for a picture, seeing angels to having an experience in the heavenlies.  We were also taught how to ask God questions throughout the occurrence and to ask what He wanted us to bring back to give away to others.

We were shown how to develop our close relationship with the Holy Spirit.  It is through Him, we are able to operate in two realms at the same time.  Our spirits can worship and experience while we continue to operate in the natural realm.  Under the leading of the Holy Spirit we can bring back the prophetic words we’ve received to declare over our lives and the lives of others.  There is no time or distance in the spirit realm so we can return to the same revelation and gain deeper insight any time.

Many members of the school commented that they had received spiritual experience before but had not recognised it, or known how to interpret and develop it further.  Things that they had shut down through lack of knowledge were opened up again.  The Glory School has released us to receive into our hearts and minds more of God’s intimate presence and to grow in the knowledge of Him.  We can enjoy the heavenly glory realm, walk in it and build relationship with Him.  We increasingly become obedient hands, feet, eyes, ears and mouths for Him.  Like Jesus only did what the father was doing, we can grow in sensitivity to His nudges and step out in bold faith to bring demonstrations of His glorious presence and power on the earth.
